Swagene Universal DNA kit for bacteria

Sample preparation for DNA extraction from bacteria

Use bacteria cells from overnight culture after centrifugation and discarding the media, or colonies from a culture plate.  Use 107-109 cells or 5-20 mg of culture.

To the right is a graph showing DNA extraction from 4 different samples of bacteria using Swagene Universal DNA kit and measured by a nanospectrophotometer.

Swagene Universal DNA kit for yeastSample preparation for DNA extraction from yeast

Use yeast cells from overnight culture after centrifugation and discarding the media, or colonies from a culture plate.  Use 107-108 cells or 5-20 mg of culture for DNA isolation.

Sample preparation for DNA extraction from fungi

Use fungal cells from culture after centrifugation and discarding the media, or colonies from a culture plate. Use 107-108 cells or 5-10 mg of culture.

Swagene Universal DNA kit for mushroomSample preparation for DNA extraction from mushroom

Use 5-20 mg of mushroom for DNA isolation .

Sample preparation for extraction of DNA from plant (leaf, rice, potato)

Grind 5-20 mg leaves or rice or potato in a mortar and pestle in the presence of liquid nitrogen or after cooling it on dry ice.  Use 5-20 mg of ground leaves for DNA isolation.

Below are the graphs showing DNA extraction from 4 different samples of leaf (left), 3 different samples of rice (middle) and 4 different samples of potato (right) using Swagene Universal DNA kit and measured by a nanospectrophotometer.
