Swagene won the Startup of the Year 2014 award in healthcare sector on 24th November. I received the plaque from Lakshmi Narayanan, Vice Chairman and CEO of Cognizant Technology. Vennimalai, Founder and CEO of Aavanor, very graciously presented the award of Rs 100,000.
Organized by the Confederation of Indian Industries (CII) in Chennai, Startupreneurs received over 500 applications from different parts of India in various sectors. After several rounds of screening, Swagene was identified for its potential in heralding personalized medicine.
Big thanks to Sridharan Sivan, Founder-Chairman of S10 Healthcare Solutions, and Sivakumar Malli, Co-founder of Goldenmile Solutions, as well as several others at CII. I am grateful to Mohan Sundaram and Veena Avahanam, mentors at IIM Bangalore, who counselled me in the beginning of 2014 and have since helped at various points. A big shout out to all family and friends that have stood by us and reposed immense support through this journey of ours. Notable among them is Navin Guleccha, a prime motivator who I frequently hound for advice.
2015 is going to be an eventful year at Swagene with several product launches, and I hope to do justice to all our friends and associates that have reposed their trust in us.
